Our own controller
The YardTouch controller is YardTouch's own design. Our goal: no Chinese parts or software. Supplier origins are being verified.
Specifications
Planned design targets. These may change during development.
- Zones: 8 plus a master valve or pump-start output; 16-zone add-on module planned
- Power: 24 VAC from a plug-in Class 2 transformer; optional solar power add-on planned
- Connectivity: 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi to your home network, Bluetooth for setup
- Sensor inputs: rain/freeze sensor, flow meter, and two general inputs
- Weather rating: indoor model planned; outdoor-rated enclosure under evaluation
- Dimensions: to be announced
Compatibility
- Designed to replace a standard 24 VAC residential sprinkler timer
- Standard 24 VAC solenoid valves (common Rain Bird, Hunter and Orbit style)
- Standard normally-closed rain and freeze sensors
- Pulse-output flow meters
- Not supported: DC transformers and DC latching (battery-timer) valves
- A tested compatibility list will be published after bench testing
Certifications
FCC/UL certification planned. YardTouch has not yet obtained any certification.
